PKAN is a rare degenerative disease of the brain that affects one in a million children. This disease changes the lives of families all over the world and very little is currently known. It can lead to Parkinsonism, dementia, dystonia and eventually death. February 28th Rare Disease Day?? is a great platform for growing awareness for the families like mine afflicted by PKAN.
